lake-infoSaratoga Lake is a freshwater lake that is located at 43° 3′ N latitude and 73° 43′ W longitude, about 25 miles north of Albany and slightly southeast of Saratoga Springs. The lake is approximately 4.5 miles long, 1.5 miles wide at its widest point and 95 feet deep.

Saratoga Lake is fed by the Kaydeross Creek and Fish Creek serves as its outlet at the north end of the lake. The water from Fish Creek empties into the Hudson River in Schuylerville.

Along tSaratoga Lakehe edge of the lake there are a number of marinas and a public boat launch located at the northeastern end. The lake is used for a number of recreational activities. It is used by a wide range of boats, both large and small. Although a smaller boat may be preferred because of the shallow water close to the shore, larger boats can still function easily closer to the center of the lake.

Most of the Saratoga Lake shoreline is privately owned, but there is a public access at the boat launch at the northern end for boaters, as well as several private marinas. The shoreline is dotted with recreational businesses that offer fishing guide services, water skiing, boarding or tubing rentals.

SLA promotes and enhances the health, safety, sanitation, recreation and environmental quality of Saratoga Lake and its extensive watershed. We collaborate with other lake-based organizations and municipalities around the lake.

The lake contains a wide variety of game fish including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, perch, carp, bluegill, crappie, sunfish, walleye and northern pike.
