The Bob Eastman Memorial Photo Contest - 2024

Submit Your Photos Now!

This year’s SLA photo contest is officially open. The contest is open to all current members (individual, family, business, and new this year – children of members) and will run through November 30, 2024.

This photo contest is held each year in memory of Bob Eastman. Bob, who passed away suddenly in May 2016, was the Vice President of the SLA board, a six-me Emmy-nominated Technical Director for Guiding Light, and an avid photographer, especially aerial photos. While a member of the SLA board, he donated many hours acting as the self-appointed event photographer for the Association. He had a great eye for just the right shot. He is survived by Lindsay Harvey, who helps SLA run the contest each year to celebrate Bob’s life and love of Saratoga Lake.

This year’s categories are:

Social – You, your friends, pets, and family having fun together (safely, of course).

Wildlife – Photos of all the creatures that share the lake with us. (Enter pet photos in the Social Category.)

Sunset/Sunrise – We’ve got the best ones around. Help us prove it.

NEW!! Seasons – prizes will be awarded for the best photos of Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

NEW!! Youth Division – Open to children of members ages 12 to 18. One prize will be awarded for any lake-related subject matter.

Best in Show – To be chosen by our judges.

Future Plans for 2025

Some ideas we are working on for the future include affiliating with local art organizations like Saratoga Arts or the Southern Saratoga Art Society and possibly having an art show with members’ photos that have been printed and are ready to hang. We’d also like to create a calendar using the winning artwork and other contest entries. Stay tuned for more information!
